WHO WE ARE

We are a church planted in 2013 by Vineyard USA with the goal of creating a community that is deeply rooted in practicing the ways of Jesus. With a penchant toward non-traditionalism, we deeply believe that Jesus can change everything in our lives. We are neither young nor old. We are both challenging and invitational. And we actually want to do the work to see God inhabit all of our lives.

You would probably enjoy our church if you are unwilling to let religious ideas get in the way of a life-giving connection to God and to each other.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our uniting beliefs fall into these categories:

Christian - Jesus, who is God in the flesh, fulfilled the messianic promise for Israel, indeed for every human, by making a way for us to receive forgiveness of sins and become children of God. Christians hold to the teaching of Jesus as King and follow His ways with our lives.

Orthodox - Our system of beliefs is centered on the Bible being the inspired Word of God. Our faith is not new; rather it is rooted in tradition, history and a long line of faithful believers who have carried faith to us today.

Protestant - In the 1500’s, Martin Luther began a historic transformation of the faith that aligns with us today. We hold specifically to the way of faith that relies on God as the rescuer of our souls through the death and resurrection of Jesus.

While these beliefs align our direction, we recognize that we are connected by more than just ideology. Our community is built on our ability to live these beliefs out together. For this reason, it is not just what we think about God, but it is how much we are willing to act on these ideas.

Therefore, maybe the most important thing about us is our Values. we hold each other to these five core values:

Tension - We recognize that we live in a world with tension and that each person has a unique story that makes up our church and community. We value approaching subjects and people with curiosity and humility.

Becoming - We deeply desire to become authentic humans, functioning from the core of our Imago Dei (the image of God). Our pursuit of God is focused on daily being shaped by God toward this vision. We live this transformation intentionally, openly and honestly.

Invitation - Following Jesus’ model, we move toward people and invite them to experience God’s love and His Kingdom. We recognize that the people who live around us need to be pursued, actively loved and not left to their own futures apart from the love of God.

Rooted - We believe in the future of our world and God’s active presence. We cling to this hope by being people who are rooted in the Word of God and rooted in the active Words of God (His living presence). We are Orthodox believers who hunger for the presence of God.

Thirsty - We abide in God’s love and pursue intimacy with Him above every other experience we might have. We long to know Him and to experience His power which transforms us and allows us to live full and vibrant lives.
