WHY WEDNESDAY?
If I were to ask you, who was the most non-traditional person to live a life of faith, you might answer Jesus. The closer the disciples came to Jesus, the more He rocked their world.
We didn’t actually start “Wednesday Church” to rock the boat. We just realized that many people were looking for a faith community that didn’t primarily meet on Sundays. Let’s be honest, Durango is a unique place and it is going to take a unique form of church to meet the needs of our city.
Wednesday night church does two significant things:
It Emphasizes Rhythm in Our Spiritual Lives. We don’t go to church to check a box, we go to reframe our lives around the way of Jesus within a faith community. Each week, we meet together to align to God’s way.
It Frees up Sundays. Many in our community have learned the practice of sabbath, truly resting each week. Others intentionally engage with their friends through activities. Others prioritize the solitude that comes with taking a day away from the daily grind. And still others, who work on the weekends, are able to prioritize the community of believers through church attendance on Wednesdays.
